My father has a companion who was stealing money from him. We moved him away from her, but she has started to show up again, always on the day that his social security check comes. We also suspect that she is giving him drugs that are not his, and giving him large amounts of alcohol. His personality, physical appearance, and demeanor are completely different when she has been with him. After about 24 hours, he is back to his normal self. I was wondering if these things would count as abuse, allowing us to obtain a protection from abuse order.
If you predict that this woman is going to show up the day the social security check is due you can take the medication out of the house for that day. Remove the booze too. This is not a good long term plan but it would buy you some time to figure out what's going on.
And you need proof. Anyone can accuse anyone of wrongdoing but unless you have proof there's not a lot the authorities can do. Get some proof and then proceed.
