My mother is in a NH. After her funds were exhausted, she was approved for Medicaid. She recently went to the hospital for several days and when she returned to the NH, Medicare paid for 21 days of care. Now the NH won't bill her for those days, and with her SS check deposited, her bank account exceeds the $2000 limit. What can I do with about $1100, so she can stay on Medicaid? Funeral expenses are prepaid.

Furniture, clothing, repairs on her house, an adjustable bed or power recliner, or even use it to pay the NH bill for the uncovered days.
