I have no experience with Parkinson’s but am bothered that your question has gone without response for so long. I’m certain that someone with that knowledge will reach out to you soon. In the meantime, you may consider looking under CARE TOPICS. There’s a section devoted to Parkinson’s and you’ll be able to look at prior questions, discussions and articles specific to the disease. Well wishes to you.

My mom has Parkinson's and it has advanced, but not sure if it's end stage. It isn't a terminal disease, but debilitating. My mom doesn't walk anymore, I transfer her in a wheelchair. Speech and swallowing are more difficult, but she still feeds herself. Strangely, her dementia has seemed to lesson, although she was over medicated for a while so that could have exasperated it before. I guess end stage is different for everyone.

There is a Parkinson's website and Association that you could contact for information.
It might also help if you contact Hospice. They can give you all sorts of information as well as help if the person with Parkinson's is Hospice eligible.

Thank you, everyone. I have looked up a lot of information on Parkinson's disease, and apparently it's difficult to predict the stages of the disease, because it affects each person differently. My husband has Parkinson's Plus, which presents differently from regular Parkinson's. I think he had it several years before it was diagnosed. He doesn't have tremors or dementia, but he does have difficulty speaking and using his hands, and he has no ability to walk or balance. I've taken care of him by myself for 2 years, but after he fell on me and broke my hip I've had to have caretakers for him 24 hours a day.I'm looking for a good nursing home, but haven't found one yet.
