It looks like her other two questions have been removed and that is where my answer was.

I think you said in the other question that your taxes, because if a new accessment, skyrocketed. My answer was that if you can't afford the increase, you may need to sell your house. Better that then lossing your house to a Sheriff 's sale where you may lose it all. By selling hopefully you will get enough proceeds to set yourself upbin an apt and use the proceeds to offset the cost of the apt. I would go to the tax dept and maybe ask for another assessment, mistakes have been made.

I am 75 and live in the #1 state for the highest property taxes in the nation. We took advantage of the senior freeze at 65. We have to pay our taxes upfront to the
County but the State reimburses us the difference from when we froze our taxes at 5k to now at $7200. Once you start getting that reimbursement you can throw it against the next years taxes. We get a homestead rebate too. Mom got a VA deduction for Dad.

Save it from what?

You have your question listed under Taxes.

Are you behind in your property taxes?

A better forum for your question would be: bogleheads.org

It's a crowd-sourced financial forum, similar to this one but focuses on finances. This forum focuses on caregiving, caregivers and care receivers.

M, this is your third post to us. Please make ONE post and include everything you can think of in that one post in future. This will give us a better way to answer you and be less confusing for you attempting to find our answers. I answered your other two posts so will defer on this one.
