Wandering devices or GPS? What is available for someone who wanders?

Besides tracking devices, equip your home with sensors. There are many devises that will alert you when a door is opened or when he gets up at 2 in the morning. That will be your first line of defense. Motion sensors, door alarms, keypads are all available at reasonable prices. Check out alzstore.com.

There is a lot of very interesting new tech available now but first you might want to check with your local police department, some places keep a registry of people with dementia and may even provide a device for wanderers.

Thank you for the information. I will contact the local pd, they all know my husband because we have lived in this community all our lives and he was a small business owner
