My father moved into an assisted living facility 4 months ago. He had all his info for filing for Aid & Attendance completed. The representative for the ALF said they would take care of sending the info because they had people that were familiar with handling this. We have never received a claim #. We have strong reason to believe that the ALF never sent the paperwork. My father just passed away. Is there any way to find out if the form was received by the VA and does anyone know if there could be any recourse against the ALF for not filing?

I would go back to the assisted living facility and ask to see a copy of the paperwork that the representative for the ALF said they would send. If they cannot provide a copy, I would ask them to send it again and provide you with a copy this time. You can also call the Department of Veterans and see if they have received any Aid and attendance forms from you.
