Find Care & Housing
It is impossible to answer you because we don't know how long she has been ill, what her overall condition is and what you mean by "all she does is sleep". She could very well be nearing the end of life, but my mother slept more than she was awake for several years before she died. You need to have her evaluated by medical professionals.

Josie, she may have had a stroke.

How are you coping, are you managing? How is your mother otherwise, are you on top of pressure sore risks, do you have all the support and equipment you need, are you getting visits from district nurses or your GP?

It isn't possible to predict what will happen next, because it will be almost impossible to determine exactly what has happened. Your mother may yet gradually recover, or it may be that she is entering the last laps. That's why the crucial thing is to get your hands on all the support you can.
