VA benefits to divorced spouse of Vietnam Veteran?

Does anybody know if my mother who was married many years to a surviving Vietnam Veteran can claim any benefits now in her retirement? (Her ex-husband is surviving not deceased). Thank you.

No, divorced wives are not elligible for benefits thru an ex spouse.

I would contact the Veterans Commission Office and find out what benefits she is entitled to if any. It does not hurt to make a call or visit. There may be a qualification as to how long they were married.
