Mom has bouts of nausea. Takes Omeprozole daily and a probiotic. I have started tums also. She is pretty much home bound so more doctors trips would be difficult. Would like help with symptoms. She does have a prescription but I wonder if living on that is good?

My elderly mom takes Zofran, and I take promethanzine. Drs tried giving me antacids too but they never really worked for actual nausea. I give mom a zofran every other day as a preventative. She also has a stronger one for if/when she actually vomits.

Thank you horse lady I never thought to go the preventative route! Her insurance won't cover the Zofran but I did have the generic once for her. I should probably check some prices.

For any questions about a patient on Warfarin, you must speak with the prescribing physician. Vitamins, herbs, over the counter medications--even cough syrup, all can interact with prescribed medications . For warfarin, even the amounts of certain foods (broccoli, kale, etc) must be monitored. Don't mess around! Check with doctor!

Moomoo: Absolutely contact her PRIMARY CARE DOC. I apologize; I missed the Coumadin. Thank you for catching that Mallory!
