Mom has been living with us for the past three years. (Hindsight is 20/20 and I wouldn't have done it if I'd known then what I know now!) BUT! I talked with Long Term Care today and Mom scored a whopping 41 (out of 60) on her medical scores. That means, as soon as we have the official diagnosis of dementia, She will QUALIFY for LTC!!! It's been a bumpy ride, but things are finally moving in the right direction! If all progresses well, she might just be in a memory care facility by the end of the year!
So, to all those out there who need the encouragement... keep on putting one foot in front of the other. It's crazy overwhelming and a slow process at times, but you'll get there. ((((HUGS))))
(I'm not sure if I'll be able to respond to anyone. I've not been able to for a while now.)
This is not the case with MC. Medicaid does not pay for MC in a facility. This is why I want to make sure you understand what your Mom has actually qualified for...
