Dad may be taken off dialysis. He's on liquid morphine for pain. How long will it take for him to go? Will he be awake for a time?

Imdlmm , Just a little over a year ago my mother in law passed away from kidney failure , she was 77 and she decided to stop her dialysis . She had dialysis twice a week , Pryor to stopping it completely she missed her last 5 treatments which was a couple of weeks she made it 6 more days so total was about 20 days . Her last 5 days she was awake almost the whole time she could no longer eat , talk , or move she just followed us with her eyes brace yourself , it is a painful way to go .from what I observed being her caregiver . Hopefully its not the same for everyone .

Was she on morphine?
