My 97-year old Dad has two live-in caregivers who switch at the weekend. I'm in New York, a high cluster area. Should I stop the switch-out and just leave one in place for the next 6-8 weeks? That essentially means firing the weekend person, for whom this income is important, and it would also mean I'd eventually need to find someone else. Trying to figure out the variables here.

Does this mean Dad is going to be alone on the weekend? Because, your can't work someone 24/7.

I’d keep things as they are. One caregiver can’t do it all. You going on the weekends is equal to having the current caregiver. Your father needs the help, and there’s no perfect way to keep all risk away. Keep emphasizing the importance of hygiene and sanitizing, and hopefully all will be well
