I will soon be a widow with no family or potential caregiver in case I get sick. What are my options?

I can not answer for PA, however in Texas there are many very nice senior living communities that offer independent and assisted living at the same facility. My dad lives in one. They have all sorts of activities. The cost difference between the independent and the first level of assisted living is $300. The price for the independent living is between $2500 - $3500 depending on the size of the apartment. Many people move in when they do not need the extra help. This makes the transition to assisted living much easier.
