Sometimes my mom seems like she lives on another planet, and then some weeks she seems to really pull it together. It’s so confusing and discombobulating. One day I’ll be like “she could die today” and the next I’m like “did I make this all up in my head???” Anyone else???

That's what dementia does to people. You're going through what every caregiver does. Try to just take each day as it comes, and I'm sorry you have to go through this.

Welcome to the world of dementia. No 2 days are alike. I always compared my caregiving journey as being on a rollercoaster. And I never have like rollercoasters.
Perhaps you need to better educate yourself about the disease, so it won't seem so confusing to you. Teepa Snow(a dementia expert)has lots of great videos on YouTube, as well as books she's written on the subject. Also the book The 36 Hour Day is a great resource as well.

Yup, dementia is a roller coaster. It's always surprising when my mom says things that are really accurate. Then the next day calls me in a tizzy about virtually nothing. It's bizarre but "normal" for dementia.
