Anyone have a parent in hospice that seems to have one problem after another? My dad got CHF and CKD and he's a diabetic. He's 81 years of age. I tried to watch and control his eating and his diabetic but somehow every day there seems to be new problem popping up. He went from being hot on the inside and freezing cold on outside but no fever. That went away after a week. Next the have upper body twitches on one arm almost causing him to lose balance. That went away after couple days. Now he starts having pain on his chest that radiates to his lower back whenever he gets up from a laying position. It also hurts when he takes his first step. I'm worried that the time has come. Does anyone parents goes through this? Is his body about to fall apart?

What is he on Hospice for? You should be able to ask these questions of the RN assigned to his case.

Ask Hospice for help. They should be dealing with his pain on a daily basis. Nobody can tell you for sure that this is "the end" but Hospice is usually what it comes to for many people.
