I know it sounds crazy...but I think she must have been saving up for a couple of days. Then with the holiday and dinner ....plus all the activities, she exploded...and I mean that in every sense of the way. I changed her bed and jammies 3 times Saturday early morning, 2 more pairs of pjs, and 2 pairs of pants...and did I mention that my washing machine decided to quit on me? So I kept track and through the day...she managed to have a total of 14 bowel movements...and most of those movements required major clean up. I sure hope we don't have this problem often. Does anyone here have any experiences like this?

My mom got c.diff after back surgery almost 3 years ago. She had it for 6-8 months straight and nearly died. I'm glad it your mom's problem was just the turkey and stuffing. :-)

Funny you should mention that Kjinshaw...we had labs testing for it. But it was negative. It was apparently a little too much turkey at Thanksgiving...IBS. She hasn't had anything to that scale in a long time. And I'm thinking the stuffing was too much.

Has she been on antibiotics lately? If so watch for c.diff.

Poop spigot...I have to remember that one. Thanks for the giggle. I don't feel like the only one now. ;)

Our 95 year old Uncle has many days where he does not any bowel movements despite his colace and small doses of prune juice. We then find we are praying for "Poop". Starting yesterday in the middle of the night the poop spigot unleashed, and we got plenty of poop and I also have been running two washing machines to keep up. Probably time to remember to be careful what you pray for because sometimes you may get what you asked for :)

My mom had many times like that, but I think your mom holds the record. Bless you.

I really considered that jeannegibbs...but with all the medication mom takes. I am suppose to keep her bowels moving. However, I did not give her the daily dose of miralax at all. Good thing is ...mom doens't remember much anymore. So as unpleasant as it was for us..No embarrasement for her. On a positive note...My electrician husband solved the washing machine problem. With a little enginuity and a few wire replacements it works like a charm. Which brings me to a close...and to clothes. ;)

How unpleasant! And wouldn't that be the time the washer conks out?

I think after the second or third episode I would have given an anti-diarrhea medicine. My husband's geriatrician even recommended those little green pills as a preventative when he was going out. I'm sure it was as unpleasant for her as it was for you, and trying to reduce unpleasantness is one of my goals!
