He has congestive heart failure which is causing fluid to build up around his lung. It has reached the point he can no longer go out to eat which was our only entertainment. I just want him to enjoy life more and physically it seems to be impossible. I would surely appreciate any ideas you may have.

What did he do before his health changed? How much of that can he do now? Does he read? Play board games? What are his other hobbies?

Is his CHF under control? I assume he's taking Lasix or Bumex, elevating his legs when he sits, and walking if he can?

I agree with Pam above about restaurants... so many restaurants have carry-out menus. We use Olive Garden all the time.

What about also inviting some of the guys over - my dad used to have his friends over for poker or other card games and enjoyed the camaraderie.

I'm not a gamer, so I don't know if there's an online golf game that might be played, but it might be worth checking out.
