What are some ways for my semi-invalid husband and I to put some "fun" back in our life?

He has congestive heart failure which is causing fluid to build up around his lung. It has reached the point he can no longer go out to eat which was our only entertainment. I just want him to enjoy life more and physically it seems to be impossible. I would surely appreciate any ideas you may have.

I'm going to check that out GardenArtist, surely there must be a golf game somewhere for the computer.

I'm not a gamer, so I don't know if there's an online golf game that might be played, but it might be worth checking out.

What about also inviting some of the guys over - my dad used to have his friends over for poker or other card games and enjoyed the camaraderie.

I appreciate all your answers and it started me thinking again. It appears you ladies like to do a lot of the things I enjoy like gardening, setting a pretty table even if it's just for sandwiches, and thank heavens for take out menus. Golfing was his favorite hobby, but of course that is impossible now, but he still reads a lot. He is on Eliquis. As soon as the heat gets back down in the 80's, rides in the country will be something we can do.

I agree with Pam above about restaurants... so many restaurants have carry-out menus. We use Olive Garden all the time.

Go get carry out from your fav restaurant, get a good movie you would both enjoy,, and pretend you are out on a date? Maybe set the table with pretty linens,, candles,, go all out!

What did he do before his health changed? How much of that can he do now? Does he read? Play board games? What are his other hobbies?

Is his CHF under control? I assume he's taking Lasix or Bumex, elevating his legs when he sits, and walking if he can?
