Sorry this question has been overlooked. Medicare does not pay for any living expenses to the best of my knowledge. I'm not sure about Section 8, you could ask the leasing agent at the apartments I guess. You can apply for Medicaid to help when you have become impoverished. It is a federal program run by each state individually, so each state has their own rules and guidelines regarding what constitutes "impoverished".
