The VA program is called Aid and Attendence. He needs to have served in wartime, been honorably discharged and meet financial and medical eligibility criteria.

Have you checked whether he is eligible for Medicaid?

Are you footing the difference? Did u check Medicaid in your State?

As said, there is Aides and Attendance thru the VA. Call your County Office and set up an appt. Make sure you have his military records. I lucked out and Dad had kept his in the same envelope they were handed him in. I would have a voided check for his bank account. Probably a Birth Certificate too. Bank statements. He may be entitled to other benefits.
