Rectal and toileting problems with Parkinson's?

My mom has Parkinson’s and constantly has issues too. She also suffered with hemorrhoids.

It’s hard to watch them experience this discomfort. My mom tried to ease her discomfort with eating well but it didn’t improve much.

So sorry that your mom is struggling with this situation. As Parkinson’s progresses it becomes more difficult to manage.

Mom’s brother who also had Parkinson’s eventually ended up only being able to eating food that his nursing home processed in a blender.

I guess I assumed "severe burning" was describing an external problem and that the examination was done by a medical professional that is competent in Parkinson's and bowel dysfunction, do you have anything more to say to help us help you better AmericanGirl?

Parkinson's patients often have GI problems. Motility in the gut is often affected. Get her to a GI for an evaluation. There should be help avaliable.

Has she had a colonoscopy? She "is" kind of old for one. The lining becomes thinner as we age and there is more likelihood of perforation. These that Box on TV where u send in a sample and they look for cancer cells. I did that for Mom.

Are you sure this is rectal and not something like a yeast infection or cystitis?
Is she using a barrier cream (aka diaper rash cream) to protect tender tissues?
And has she changed her diet or added any new medications or supplements lately?
