My father lives with me a receives VA Aide & Attendance benefit. I have a home health aide during the week. For evenings and weekends I am taking care of him myself. Can he provide my money from the benefit for caring for him. If so, is this considered taxable income for me?

Also, I claim him as a dependent. This is valid because I pay all the expenses in the HH including his (food, clothing, heat, etc.). Can I still claim him a dependent if I am getting paid for his health needs through the VA benefit?

Find Care & Housing
I am confused.   My mom gets VA A & A, and it is not enough to cover one aid during the week.    She also gets social security.   We have a roommate agreement, whereby she pays me an allocable share of the housing expenses.   This is different from a rental agreement, and the IRS agrees not taxable income.   I do not claim my mom as a dependent, don't know about that.
