My mother-in-law has Alzheimer's and severe hearing problems. We were wondering if there were any programs available that might help her cover the cost of some much needed home repairs. The house was damaged during Hurricane Ike, and the insurance settlement was insufficient to cover all of the needed repairs. We are working with an agency (in Houston) that has told us they may be able to put around $3,000 toward the repairs, but the needed work will cost around $15,000.

Find Care & Housing
I would go to her State's Web site under aging services. Many states have help for elders who need it for home repair. Anyway, this page should have contact information for many local services and an email address. Good luck.
