esmallwood, I see in your profile that your mother has Alzheimer's/Dementia... as your know only your mother can authorize a new Power of Attorney for herself and appoint who will represent her as her POA. Would she be able to do that? An attorney would not allow her to sign if he/she felt your mother wouldn't understand the legal documents.
