My brother is in a nursing home now but still has his home. He wants me to get stuff for him at his home. His X son in law lives there, I went to home and he let me in then when I said I am here to get stuff for my brother he called police. A policemen came and I showed papers but the policemen butt me out. two weeks later i took my brother to police so they know and again they wouldn't let me go in with my brother. these persons living there are not tenants and have no agreement to live there. His daughter had POA and took what she wanted over some yrs i am finding out she meet someone on internet left Pa and went to Sweden in Nov 2016 put my 92 yr old brother in Nursing home and left taking 5 months mortgage payments and tax money with her. My brother has wounds that won't heal on his ankles so when insurance runs out he go's home and the ramp someone put in those living there sold and you say he won't be able to get back in his home if the people there say no. I was able to stop his checks still going to Sweden. Now i have to deal with those that are to hold up the law for the right not for the law breakers I also find out the Grand daughter lives there and she sold the ramp for scraps for drugs this her father told me he was there so what now

Let's be honest, you want to have some stuff just like the others already took some stuff. His daughter should be arrested, but your brother refuses to sign the complaint for the police. He will not be going home, after insurance runs out he will pay out of pocket. When his savings are gone, he will need Medicaid AND a lawyer to defend him from the gifting penalties. So see a lawyer NOW and not later.

Well, Sweden does have an extradition treaty with the US, we all know that thanks to Julian Assange. But it still won't get the OP any money back, will it.

What would the implications be of the brother's owning this house when it comes to Medicaid applications? If these difficult former family members aren't paying rent, and there's no access to the property, and it can't be sold - where should Star999 go for help, then?

This is happening in New Jersey? Really? The police won't help? I expected NJ to be more civilized than this.

Start eviction procedures at once. It will take a while. See a lawyer.
