Yes, there are. You can hire a home healthcare aide to help your mom with personal grooming. There's usually a 2-hour minimum. Does your mom need help with other things that can fill up 2 hours?

You can also look in the yellow pages under the govt listing for the senior citizen program department. Ask if there's any programs that your mom may qualify for. My parents had meals-on-wheels for the weekdays. And a gov't sponsored caregivers come to our home and bathe/sponge bathe my parents on a weekly basis - 4hrs a week. But my dad fought to have them divide into 1 hour, 4 times a week - so that he can be bathed 4 times a week instead of once a week. They also sweep and mop his area, offer to do the laundry (which we always turn down), etc... He also found a program that provides a caregiver to come for 1 hour a week to give the home caregiver respite.
