I can't take it anymore, there is no help available for this! I know that it is their disease that is making them say and do hurtful things. But it still hurts. There is no respite care where we live. There are no services or support groups. I don't know where to turn to

Are they in their home, your home? Are you living with them? What resources (financial and community) do they have?

I live in northern Canada. they live with my husband and I and "aren't ready" for a nursing home. We live in a small community and there are no resources. Closest city is 500 miles away.

Ready or not a nursing home may be the only option if you are no longer able to provide care. As you realize the use of hurtfull language is part of the disease and is unlikely to change. Are you in any way dependent financially on your parents? I would start by having a frank discussion with their Dr and ask him/her to direct you towards further action.

they are financially dependent on me, which is a switch for them and contributes to their anger.

notcoping, could you get their MD to prescribe a mild anti depressant, maybe something for Seasonal Affective Disorder? Your daylight must be getting very short.

They are already on antidepressants.
