My mother was active and social. She lost a close friend weeks ago. She then had a bout with severe pain and she could not walk. She had a nerve block. I assumed she was on the road to recovery. She will not eat without me pleading with her. She will not talk or see any of her friends. I am scheduled to return to work after a month long leave. I can't leave her @ home in this state of mind. WHAT CAN I DO?

Maybe contact all her friends to check in regularly and get her to the doctor. Dr can give her something temp while she grieves. She may be thinking she's "in line", which could be disconcerting. You need to have a realistic talk with her about your responsibilities and your job. Encourage her to talk about her feelings.
Was this a man friend or GF? Take care, xo

Gosh, it sounds like depression. Poor lady. I hope that the doctor is able to help. You may think that this is strange, but I have seen medical marijuana help a lot of people, like you describe. I don't have any first hand knowledge, though.
