My dad is now in a rehab center after having a CVA a week ago. We fear that he is going to be long term. Has anyone had any dealings with placing their father or mother in a healthcare facility that accepts VA patients. he is 100% Disabled veteran. Or has anyone received the Aid and Assistance thru the VA and how long did it take to receive it? Thanks for any input.

You can find that information on the VA website, and the ALF or NH will be able to tell you if they honor VAs with a discount (up to $2,000/month). http://www.va.gov/geriatrics/guide/longtermcare/assisted_living.asp
