I have a client on medicaid/Medicare. Says their gas to go to the doctors was covered by medi/medi. Is this true or should I be charging them for this simple task?

Find Care & Housing
Client arranged ride through Medicaid or broker >>
Medicaid reimburses client or driver directly >>
Don’t charge them separately.

OR

Client did not schedule through Medicaid’s system >>
Medicaid won’t pay automatically >>
You can charge your normal fee.

OR

You’re not a registered NEMT provider >>
You can’t bill Medicaid directly >>
Charge client or refer them to broker.

Please research this for your actual home state as the Medicaid rules can vary.

Google tells me that in some states Medicaid will reimburse for gas/mileage for medical appointments. So check your state rules and if so, the procedures for getting the reimbursement.

Medicaid, in my state, pays an agency to take recipients to doctor visits. My nephew is signed up with one of these agencies but he has never had to use them.
