Has anyone had any experience with a loved one in the Nevada State Veterans Home? I recently placed my Dad in there in the Memory Care Neighborhood,
He is not in the advanced area and hope he never is but would love any feedback as to how well the facility treats it's residents...

Do you mean in Boulder City? I have no experience with it, but seem to have a generally positive impression of it from the media. That is the direct opposite of the VA medical center in the Vegas area. That has had horrible reports about the care there of a blind female vet who died.

Purrson, go there during meal times. See how they work, check out the food. Talk to the other residents. Bring a box of chocolates to the nurses (small bribes work wonders) Say please and thank you a LOT. Always offer to leave the room for the cleaning lady and apologise for being in the way. Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut.
