The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. If by assistance you mean financial help to pay for it you can try contacting your local Area Agency on Aging (or call 2-1-1) to see if there are any assistance programs for such a thing.
This forum gets this question a lot (and also tree removal) and you need to realize that if you can't afford such types of maintenance and repairs then you cannot afford to live in your house any more. The expenses will not stop at just the roof. Please consider selling it (as is) and downsizing to a senior community apartment or even a facility.

Contact your homeowners insurance about your coverage for a roof.
There have been more and more posts on getting free home repairs. Contact some roofing companies like everyone else has to. If you cannot afford it, you need to sell your house as is and move to more affordable, appropriate housing. I don't know why people are recommending to contact agencies and bother them with this. Why do you expect free help? Why do you own a house if you can't maintain it? If you have questions or need advice on caring for the elderly, I can assure you that we would be as helpful as possible with advice or recommendations.
I've seen the home's of many seniors who have put off moving for too long, and leaving a leaking roof to badly damage the home is a throughline. If you can't afford to repair the roof you can no longer afford to stay in the house and need to sell it and move into an apartment or senior community, etc. Leaving a leaking roof means compounding damage and by the time you finally sell, your house is a hot mess and will have lost significant value.
