Have you spoken to the hospital social worker? They should be able to suggest affordable options.

Look for a volunteer group near you. There's one near me, and volunteers drive senior citizens to surgeries, doctor appointments, etc. It's free, but you have to register well in advance. They need even more advance notice if it's for an out-of-town trip.

I know it sounds excessive, but there are local limousine/driver services that are not as expensive as you think. If you simply need a car and driver, then it won't cost what a stretch limo costs.

The social worker is the place to start, and if you belong to a local Carmel Valley community Facebook group, you can ask for recommendations there.

Call Redcross or office of aging. Some Churches have volunteers. If you receive Medicaid, they have a service.
