Mom cannot use a tablet/iPad on her own despite my attempts to teach her to scroll pages. I have to sit next to her and turn pages etc for her and I have no patience for this. Is there any way to get her to read on her own?
Is there any website or an app with audios for world news in different languages? I Googled but not finding anything.

Wren, is it possible to get a subscription to the hard copy of the newspapers? I realize the delivery may be a week late but Mom may still enjoy reading the news.

I know for myself, I hate reading the newspaper on-line, always feel like I need to do wack-a-mole to get rid of advertising that is slowing down the newspaper. And I find scrolling makes me sea sick. It did the same for my elderly father. So he was able to continue to get the weekly hard copy of his hometown newspaper delivered to his home via mail.

It might come to $200 or more per year - it has to come from India...
Not sure if it's worth it...
I thought of getting it from libraries here but mom has a habit of "putting" away these magazines for reading later and I have to hunt for them all the time:-(

I don't know much about the apps, but, what if you printed off a few articles a day? It would involve ink and paper costs. If she's a voracious reader, that might not be feasible.

What about the radio? Have you checked for different language stations? I know in BC there is at least one Hindi radio station.

There likely are cable channels in different languages too.

The radio stations play only music from today's movies, not news, as far as I know. I will keep looking for news channels. Thank you!

Wren, I know that U.S. cable TV does offer India channels, as my friend's mother-in-law liked watching her India soap operas and the news. Check with your cable carrier to see what is the cost for that package. Your Mom might enjoy that :)
