Mom is 88, lives at home, by herself. I am looking for bathing help for her, Would prefer to use an agency, not a private caregiver. What is the minimum number of hours a week that agencies typically require?

Find Care & Housing
Call local agencies and find out what they say.

Each area is different and each task is different, so you will only know when you call the actual companies that would be providing the service.

I lucked out. My daughter had a friend who worked as a private aide. She was a bus aide. When she was done with the bus, she came to my house and bathed Mom. It took about a half hour to bathe and dress her. She then would sit and talk to Mom. She did this 3x a week. This was 2014 and I paid her $10 a day. I wish now it had been $15. But I was watching Moms money. There were a couple of times she couldn't make it, I still paid her $30 a week. Eventually Mom was going to Adult care and they gave her a bath.

IME, 3 or 4 hours a day, not certain if any weekly minimum.
