Omg! Last night after he had been sleeping for about two hours he got up to use the br. He was in there longer then usual so I asked him if he needed help. He said he had a mess in there and was cleaning up. I waited and knew that I'd have to go in afterwards to re-clean. He came out of the br and I was waiting in the hallway to escort him back to his room when he asked for a hug. I went to give him a quick hug and he pulled me close and grabbed my behind! I was flabbergasted! I didn't make much of it and got him resettled in bed. I did say "I'm your daughter" I didn't sleep too well afterwards thinking he might find his way into my bedroom. He's 92! Jeeze! I know his reasoning and memory have flown out the window for sometime now but this really took me by surprise. I'm hoping this is just a one time event. Anybody with a similar situation and advice for me? I'm so glad I found this site where there are others that can relate and know exactly what I'm going through and don't judge! Thanks for any advice!

Soon you will have many writing here with support and suggestions. In the meantime, you can google "dementia+inappropriate sexual behavior" and lots of info will come up. Good luck!

My dad was convinced he and I went to high school together, and grew up together.. And my mom was too old to be his wife. I kept waiting for the "hugs" as he thought every woman who came in our house was hot for him. Except his CG, a big old country gal who treated him like her long lost grampa! We adored her! So did he, but not "that way" Its not that uncommon, so good luck!

Hi Lucee, I don’t have any experience with this but wanted to reach out and say sorry you are dealing with this part of the disease. It must be upsetting and very uncomfortable. I hope this phase passes very quickly. Good luck.
