Sorry you did not receive a timely answer. I have no knowledge of funds for Veterans in Assisted Living. I know either Medicare or Medicaid has a rule that one needs to live in AL for 2 years before they will pay.

Your best bet is to call your local VA or even go to their website and do a search. That way you’re getting the real scoop.

yes there are VA benefits that cover long term care/nursing homes. The VA has its own nursing homes too. Unless it’s changed, the nursing home does have to be VA-contracted in order for the VA to pay for it. You should contact your local VA for more information.

The private pay rule for two years before Medicaid is facility policy, not a Medicaid or Medicare rule.
