NicoleB, as we age we will start to lose our taste for food, except for sugary items. I noticed that whenever my Mom [97] would give me her grocery list, good grief, pie, chocolate chip muffins, Little Debbie or Hostess cupcakes, and do not forget ice cream. Dad was happy.
If your Dad can eat surgery items, see if he shows any interest in pie or a chocolate creme filled cupcake. If Dad wants ice cream for breakfast, ask him "one scoop or two". I believe when we all reach our golden years old, let us have fun foods :)

While it is hard to watch our LO not eat and eventually not drink, we need to let them guide us as to what they need or don't need.
