My mom (91 and previously living with me) fell a little over a week ago and broke her hip which landed her in the hospital. Her "bad behavior" made it so she can't go to a rehab facility (insurance won't cover it because she's been "uncooperative"). I can't do this full time alone anymore so I've decided to place her in a group home. Any tips, tricks, advice? The home is a nice one story house with 4 or 5 other residents.

My grandmother is in a group home and it's worked out great. For us the biggest reason it worked out so well was because of the caregiver. So I would suggest getting to know the people who will be with them most of the time. Also, try and talk to the other people living there and see what they think. If you have time to stay and see any of the nurses that visit to help the residents, ask them what they think. I would also make sure that there is a bell or some way for the residents to let the caregiver know that they need something if they are in another room. Does your mother have a cell phone so she can call just in case she needs to?

Thank you Pamstegma :) I plan on visiting daily most of the time. She's on hospice so she will have nurses checking in on her a couple times a week. Any red flags regarding the contract that you've run in to? I made a copy of all of the rules and all the other paperwork she (the owner of the group home) gave me.

Make sure she has a visiting nurse as needed. Read the group home contract very carefully and keep a copy of everything you sign. Visit her weekly.
