Can you move a parent to a different care home if you have a financial power of attorney. Current care home refusing to let him move.

We have found a brand new care home near to where we live in Hampshire. Father is in care home in Yorkshire. We have financial p of a for him. He originally agreed to move down here but now the Yorkshire care home say he wants to stay with them! I can't speak to him on phone. He is a 6 hour drive away by car. I have no idea how he is or even what his wishes are .. Any suggestions please ..

No, a financial POA just pays the bills. Who is medical POA?
Can you afford medical transport for 304km?
Have you coordinated the move with NHS?
Funding varies by region, so you’ll need to check with your local Clinical Commissioning Group, Health Board or Health and Social Care Trust to see what’s covered.

Make the drive and find out what your father wants - long drive but an easy solution to figuring out what he wants. Unless you are fathers guardian you cannot make him move. No offense - but you don't seem overly involved in his care. Why move him if he is happy there?

OK so Yorkshire is in the North of England region of NHS and
Hampshire is in South of England region of NHS.
So which region offers you better funding?
