I am an RN. My dad is a veteran and is bedridden, has Alzheimer's, diabetes and requires full care. My mom is barely able to care for him because she has mobility issue related to a knee that is bone on bone, osteoporosis causing back and ankle pain, is forgetful, too weak to clean, care for the home or my dad. I have bills to pay. My parents income is limited, about $2800 a month. Is there any way I can get paid for caring for my parents?

You need to check with your state to see if they have any type of reimbursement program for family members who are full time care givers. Some do, and some don't. Those that do might have a financial ceiling. Your parents may have to be available for medicaid before any aid kicks in, in which case your parent's wouldn't qualify because of their combined income. You'll just need to see what your state has to offer.

Also, check to see what veteran's affairs has to offer in the way of aid help for your father.

Good Luck!
