What are some other TV shows like Full House and Brady Bunch? She believes the people can see her and hear her. She will only watch the same show all day and night (which I buy on DVDs) until eventually I can not stand it any more and I switch her to another show. There are SOOOO few she will accept though. She loves Full House because of the baby in it. Little House on the Prarie has too much drama. I have tried Family Affair, Waltons, Wonder Years, Golden Girls (which she loved years ago but not now), and I can't even think of what else....Gilligan's Island..... None of them have babies though and I think the baby is the hook with her. Are there any other shows anyone can think of that have a baby or babies in it? Shows like Baby Daddy are too much of "adult humor" for her.

What about nature documentaries, especially ones with beautiful scenery such as the ocean documentaries? They're true, but they don't really have a story line. I find them very relaxing. But stay away from the global warming ones.

Sometimes, it isn't the show she is watching. If she thinks they can see her, hear her, that is severe suffering, paranoia. Ask the doctor for the right meds to calm her. So sorry she has that symptom. The symptom can generalize to other issues. You are so caring to try to give her helpful things to watch. If it bothers
you because it is repetitive, get her extension earphones, then when the show ends, redirect her to another activity. The game Score four helps cognition. Can she play games?

I can't really think of TV shows beyond what you and GSA have already mentioned but I do recall some funny, entertaining movies: Three Men and a Baby w/Tom Selleck and Ted Danson and Baby Boom w/Diane Keaton....pretty sure they'd be available on DVD.
My Mom (94, dementia, in ALF) loves the Classic Movie Channel....her short-term memory is pretty much shot but she remembers all those handsome leading men from the 30's, 40's and 50's (Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, David Niven) and loves their movies. Music has always been a huge part of her life, esp. show tunes so anything funny and light-hearted like My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Mary Poppins are favorites.....Also Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies.....

Not, NCIS, Law and Order or anything else of the sort. My mom too, thought tv was real so, naturally mom would get panic worried thet her children were ok. Keep the tv shows short and light. The old stuff mentioned above is best. My mom just was not able to process the difference between tv and life.

Oldie sitcoms are good. Definitely not CNN. My parents would watch CNN all day and mom thought the fires were near her house and ran out in the middle of the street to look for the firemen. The news really upsets her.

My mom likes the Little Couple (no one gets hurt and there are kids). We usually watch on Hulu or amazon or netflix as the seasons are so short. Perry Mason is always good...and except the victim, no one else gets hurt. She also likes Ironside, when it is on.

Mom has problems with some of the commercials, doesn't realize it is a commercial and can't figure out how it goes with the show. Sometimes that is why I prefer to watch on Amazon...no commercials!
