Mom has been saying things that's not true, but in her mind it's true. Any advice?

Draford, has your Mom been checked for dementia? With dementia the person will say things that are not true, sadly it is the dementia doing the talking. Calling the police and making a false report is serious business, and right there is a red flag that Mom's mind isn't as clear as some of the siblings are thinking.

Curious why one of your sisters took your Mom out of the nursing home and place her home alone... what were her reasons? Memory issues don't get better, they only get worse. Will the sister who removed her then come in to be her full-time caregiver?

Oh Vero Beach I have such fond memories, my parents lived there for 20 yrs when leaving MA to retire..Dad worked at Dodgertown..

Sounds like dementia to me.. I would let her DR know what's been going on.. Does she have any homecare? I would assume the NH had someone contact her when she left there..Why was she in the NH?

She has been told that she did have some Dementia, the sister that took her out of the nursing home feels like she doesn't have it and she's not that sick. I am trying to find out how to go about getting outside help for her. We are living in Gainesville, Fl. that's about 3 hours away, the other 6 are there. To be honest, they don't want the Hassel of dealing with her. Who can I contact there in Vero, if you are that person, than great. We just need to know what else can we do. Thanks Again
