Hi my mom moved into a memory care center...about 3 years ago..she had a dime size mole...about 3 weeks ago we noted the dark mole got bigger about as big as a baseball)and has turned to a light color..with sores in side of it..she got on hospice 2 maths ago..loss 16 pounds not eating or drinking good..no bowels or urine control..hospice is saying I need to get it check out..she is also in stage 7 of Alzheimer's...so if it is cancer with her being in stage 7..please help😪😪

What would the options be if it is cancer? The general rule is don't do the test if you wouldn't do the treatment. I'd find out what could be done first. If there is something that would, for example, prevent a lot of pain, that MIGHT be worth considering. You'd have to weigh the risks against the benefits.

I am so sorry that you are facing such a difficult decision, motherof5. May your mother soon have peace.

Just listen to the doctor explain the options and decide what is best for Mom under the circumstances.

Thank you.. yep I think that what I am going to do take her to doctor and see what's going on...and hen go from there

Hospice is saying that my moms has the abcde that you check if you have a cancerous mole..hospice is saying that she had all 5.. so made a appointment for Friday..but I am so confused not to know what to do..can she go through this surgery she got mersa the last time but was in a little better help..now she is way into stage 7..what to do...
