My Mom is in a Nursing Home and will very soon need to apply for Medicaid. In Pennsylvania, is there a specific amount of time given to sell her home? Or is it more a question of no longer having money available (when her Social Security goes down to $40./month) to maintain the home? Will I have any pressure from the Nursing Home or Medicaid to sell while she is alive? And while I'm on the subject, what about after she passes? Is there a limit on time there for any reason?

I'm sure someone else will mention the same thing, but I would talk to an 'elder lawyer' about the concerns you have. I am in Florida, and the rules are different.

Perhaps someone from PA will come online and be able to answer your questions, but in the meantime, I would look for a lawyer. It's better to be safe than sorry.

God Bless
