Mom lives in NJ and I live in Springfield MO. She's being exploited financially and abused mentally. Help!

Call APS in the city in which your mom and sister live and report the abuse.

Are you alleging that your sister is emotionally blackmailing your mother into giving her money?

Does your mother have capacity, or do others act for her either through POA or guardianship?

But how exactly have you made the determination of abuse and exploitation? Do you documentation for the financial abuse?

Your profile states that you're caring for your mother who resides at a nursing home. Is she in a nursing home in MO or NJ? Has the nursing home documented the alleged abuse? Have you spoken with its administrator?

Financial abuse can be documented but mental abuse is more subjective.

That is what Adult Protective Services are for. (I don't know what they are called in your area). But if the elder won't speak against the abuser, they cannot do anything at all. You need proof for them to do anything. If you have financial proof, you can also take it to the police. I have done that before for my ex husband's mother and they needed even more proof than I had (ATM withdrawals)!
