Can she get up if she has something solid to grab hold of? You know, the best offense is a good defense. So I guess the question is, how do you keep her off the floor in the first place? I've tried to stop my mother-in-law from falling before, but I just couldn't stop the dead weight once she starts to go down. And once she's down, unless she has something to help HERSELF pull herself up, it's incredibly hard. Now she uses a walker ALL the time, and the falling has gotten less. But she's still managed to break both hips in the last 3 years, so....
