Is there an echo in here? :) I'm going to say it, too. Be evaluated by a doctor!

You need to see your doc ASAP. And your eye doc. Whatever is going on is something that needs to be investigated. Spinal stenosis is common with aging - I have it, my mom has it, my brother has it. It's manageable. Your other symptoms are more concerning. You could have undiagnosed diabetes, which would cause both of your other symptoms (blurred vision, slurred speech). Only a doc and some tests will figure out what's going on. Get thee to a doctor and then let us know how you are!

This may be out in left field, but WHEN you go to the Dr. (and *please* do), ask them to explore a possibility: Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. The three main symptoms that presage the condition is lack of balance, signs of dementia and incontinence (you didn't comment on it, but in case it's there, too, I mention this). This condition is apparently reversable with appropriate treatment.

Let us know how it goes?

As SA has said get to the Dr ASAP. Even the ER is not out of the question it is that urgent. and I can't say this LOUDLY enough,
There may be several things going on or it may all be related to one condition and menopause is not my first thought. Don't let fear keep you immobilized you will feel much better when you know the truth. It may be mild or serious but you won't get better by doing nothing. It may be related to your previous alcohol intake or something as simple as a reaction to some medications prescribed for you. Please take action and do it now. Keep us in the loop. people here really do care. Good thoughts.

Alice, something is up and you need to get to a doctor and tell him/her what you've just said here. ASAP. Today, if possible. Let us know how it goes.. It could be something minor right now, so have yourself looked at. *hugs*

Also, some more details about your life would be a big help in getting answers here... When did the blurred vision and slurred speech begin? Not being able to finish things sounds like it could be stress or depression. I know when my blood pressure was sky high for so long my vision got blurrier, too....
