Medicaid income levels?

Husband has alzheimer's he is home with me now. If he needs to go to nursing home will Medicaid take half of my pension to pay for his care?

See an elder law attorney. Like Snoopy said, Medicaid will not impoverish you. But, any assets are one half his at minimum.

Hi, Sheila. So sorry about your husband's illness. I am bumping this up so people more knowledgeable about this subject can answer -- but my impression from what I've read on this forum is that there are allowances made for spouses so as not to impoverish them. Also you may need to visit a lawyer versed in this subject specifically. I hope for the best for you.
