Has anyone tried low dose Risperdal at night for elderly?

Dr. is starting with .5 mg at night. We tried one last night but my grandma still didn't sleep and is having religious compulsions.

Yes!!! my ex mil is the one I take care of (I live with her) and she has 'spells' of anger/aggression/loss of reality) She started on reiperdal about 2 months ago and it has been a godsend. the doctor upped her dosage to .5 mg. morning and evening. It only took about a week for her system to become accustomed to it. she was groggy in the mornings when we first started it, but now, she is just fine, and her temperament is soooooooooo much more cordial! I would give it a few days... maybe 5 to 7 days...... before you make any decisions regarding giving/not giving the meds.
